The Chemainus Wednesday Market returns on Wednesday June 2nd.
The provincial health policy change for COVID-19 has allowed the outdoor event hosted by the Chamber of Commerce of Chemainus & District and supported by Tourism Chemainus and the Chemainus Public Market to continue. In the short term, with the relaxation of some restrictions, it was decided to continue the market in the short term.
The market takes place every Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. until September 1st.
It will be in the parking lot across from Waterwheel Park.
“However, if we can find enough vendors, this will be carried over to the Chemainus Public Market parking lot,” said Emily Weeks, director of the Chamber of Commerce.
There will be clothes, bags, accessories, crochet, quilting, handmade hats, baskets, jewelry, local artwork, cards, jams, baked goods, fresh produce, flowers and more.
Social distancing must continue to be practiced for the outdoor outdoor market. Hand sanitizer is provided and masks are highly recommended.
“This market will adapt to the province’s current health mandates as they change over time,” Weeks said.
The Chemainus Business Improvement Association will also bring the businesses in the city center together to stay open until 6:00 p.m. for a better shopping experience.
