Tom Daley cares for more than just his diving during the Olympia.

The athlete, who recently won gold at the Tokyo Games, was spotted working on a purple and cream design over the weekend as he took in the action at the final of the women’s 3-meter springboard final.

His perfectly sane way of passing the time was eventually featured in BBC Sport coverage of the event, although this is certainly no secret as Tom has proudly displayed his designs in the past.

On July 26th, he and Matty Lee won his first Olympic gold medal at the 10m synchronous platform event and celebrated the victory by making himself a pouch for the medal.

He said at the time: “Knitting and crocheting helped me a lot at these Olympics and we won GOLD yesterday. I made a small medal case too! YAY! ‘

His next diving event will be the custom 10m platform, while his last for this year’s Olympics will be the Tokyo diving program.

Let’s get to know Tom a little better.

How old is tom daley

Tom is 27 years old and just 12 years old – three years below the usual age – when he entered the 2007 Australian Youth Olympic Festival.

He won silver with Callum Johnstone in the final of 10m synchronized diving.

Who is Tom Daley’s husband and how many children do they have?

Tom started dating Dustin Lance Black around 2013, and they got engaged in 2015 before tying the knot two years later.

Their son Robbie was born in June 2018, and the diver recently suggested that the universe made him wait to become a father before winning Olympic gold.

He said, ‘It’s kind of incredible. I thought I was going to win an Olympic gold medal in Rio [in 2016] And it turned out by far the exact opposite, and my husband told me that my story wasn’t finished and my son or child – we didn’t know it then – had to be there to watch I win an Olympic gold medal. ‘

They could expand their family in the near future, as Tom’s son told him during a conversation with Attitude that he would like to have siblings.

“You want a brother and a sister? We always said we want a big family. Definitely sometime after the Olympics, I’m sure of that, ”he revealed.

Dustin himself is a director and Oscar-winning screenwriter who worked on Pedro, Virginia and Milk, the latter earning him the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

Are Tom Daley’s knitting patterns online?

Back to knitting – and you’re in luck!

Tom keeps his fans and knitting colleagues up to date with all of his work on Instagram at @madewithlovebytomdaley with around 425,000 followers.

He even revealed what he was working on by the pool when he shared pictures of adorable pooches in their own homemade pooch sweaters and revealed that he had created another when caught on camera.

He wrote, “I made some doggie sweaters for my friends! It’s the cutest little pattern @knittingland can follow ❤️ How cute do they all look ?! I did another one by the pool yesterday, lol ‘.

Tom’s page shows off his impressive selection, from a unicorn and a reindeer to baby shoes and a replica of a Gucci dress valued at £ 1,750.

Impressive!
