From a press release:

Audacy and his local radio stations 98.5 KRZ, Froggy 101, Max 102 and WILK 103.1 are partnering with the Lackawanna County Commissioners to host the first-ever Lackawanna County Giveback on the Mountain Musicfest on Saturday, May 14th.

The new festival will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Pavilion on Montage Mountain (1000 Montage Mountain Rd., Scranton) and will feature all things Lackawanna and Northeast Pennsylvania, including vendors of all kinds, restaurants, food trucks, Wineries and more Variety of live musical performances selected from the county’s Music Re-Opening Act grant, performing on two stages.

This event is free to the public and participating local businesses. After long lockdowns and quarantines, attendees will “finally be able to unwind and enjoy a day of food, shopping, music and fun with friends and family” – while supporting small businesses and musicians, who are among those who have suffered the most from the pandemic.

“The Lackawanna County Giveback on the Mountain Musicfest was born out of love for our little corner of Pennsylvania. NEPA is full of wonderful people, companies and talented musicians. We want to bring everyone together to celebrate our region for a day of fun on the mountain!” explains the festival’s website.

“It’s no secret that the pandemic has brought hardship to many people and businesses. This also applies to local musicians. The economic collapse of the local live music industry not only affected the musicians themselves but countless others including managers, sound engineers, stage crew, lighting directors and many more. In 2021, Lackawanna County Commissioners established the Lackawanna County Music Re-Opening Act Grant with funds from the American Rescue Plan Act to help the local music industry recover from the effects of the pandemic and promote the safe reopening of the county. Qualified musicians and DJs from Lackawanna County were invited to apply for the scholarship. A selection of selected musicians will perform live at the festival!

“In addition to the wonderful local musicians, local businesses and vendors will be there showing what they do best. You will enjoy music, food, shopping and more!”
