Craft kits to take away: Available Tuesday March 1st. March’s craft is a terracotta goblin hat decoration. Kits are available at the adult and student ticket office on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.

New life for old bags: Saturday, March 12, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in person. Help turn plastic grocery bags into sleeping mats for the homeless. Knitting and Crochet Group: Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. via Zoom. This informal group works on their own projects, discussing yarn types and colors, and helping each other with new or tricky patterns. No registration required. Storm Chase 101: Thursday, March 3, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Take a ride with the Illinois Storm Chasers and delve deep into storm chasing, local climatology and the causes of severe weather. Questions and answers will follow. masks required. No registration required.

Author group: February 24, March 10, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in person or via Zoom. Join other writers to discuss your work. Open to adults and high school students. book club: Wednesday, March 16, 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., in person. Review of March’s book, Jeanine Cummins’ American Dirt. The book for April is called the Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd and is available at the box office. This group reads a variety of genres. Newcomers are always welcome. masks required.

Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP): Wednesday, March 9, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in person. Kendall-Grundy Community Action Services will be in the Plano library to provide help with LIHEAP applications. Please bring the following with you to apply: Social security cards for each household member; Proof of the total income of the last 30 days for all persons aged 18 and over in the household; and current gas and electricity bills. youth programs

Preschool Stories: Mondays, February 21, March 28 and March 7, 10:30 a.m. to 11:10 a.m., in person. For 3-6 years. Contains simple stories, music, movement activities and a simple craft. Parents must remain in the children’s library during the program. For independent 3 to 6 year olds without an adult. masks required. Registration required. rhyme time: Wednesdays, February 23 and March 2, 9, 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in person. For babies up to 3 years old. This lap-sitting story features action rhymes, finger plays, songs, movement activities, a simple story, and parent-child reading time. Active adult participation is an integral part of this program. Bring a blanket for your family to sit on. For babies up to 3 years accompanied by an adult. Masks are compulsory for all adults and children from the age of 3 years. Happy Pig Day with elephant and piggy: Monday, February 28, 6-7pm or Tuesday, March 1, 6-7pm For grades K-3. Join us in celebrating National Pig Day with our favorite pig, Piggie.
