CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 2, 2022) – HTL perma USA, a Germany-based manufacturer of single-point lubrication systems, announced today that it is expanding its corporate presence and manufacturing facilities in Charlotte. The company will create more than 24 new jobs and invest in a new campus that will house headquarters, manufacturing and warehousing operations.
perma USA has had a manufacturing facility in Charlotte for almost 30 years and currently employs around 60 people. The more than 24 new positions include a mix of engineering, sales and customer service, administrative and manufacturing functions.
“By expanding our facilities, we can reach our customers much faster while streamlining our internal operations and meeting our growth plans. We will have even better control over the quality and cost of our products and will be able to pass these benefits on to our employees, customers and the community,” said Johannes Kiesel, Managing Director.
The name perma stands for innovation, creative solutions and market leadership in single-point lubrication technology. The company designs and manufactures single point lubrication devices and supplies more single point lubrication systems than any other manufacturer in the world. The new Charlotte facility will allow perma USA to serve more customers in the US, but also to strengthen customer relationships in Canada and Latin America going forward. It will also serve as the cornerstone of perma’s Go GREEN initiative, which includes operating the facility with zero net annual energy consumption and converting the company’s fleet of vehicles to all-electric systems.
“The new headquarters allows us to give back to the environment and community here in Charlotte, our home for nearly 30 years, while taking a big step closer to fulfilling our vision across America. I’m really looking forward to the years to come and proud to be breaking ground soon,” said Kiesel.
“Charlotte has a proven track record as a city where innovative businesses can thrive and expand, and perma USA is our latest success story,” said Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles. “We are proud to be the new headquarters of a long-term partner committed to improving environmental sustainability and expanding its workforce with local talent.”
perma USA was guided by Trinity Partners’ Industrial Property Services team to find the perfect location for its new headquarters. Construction of the building and production facility will start in 2022, and the inauguration is planned for 2023.
“We are excited to partner with perma USA to bring new employment opportunities to the county as a continuation of our goal of building a thriving manufacturing sector to fill the economic mobility gaps in our community,” said George Dunlap, Chairman of the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners.
This project was a collaborative effort between the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, the North Carolina Department of Commerce and the North Carolina Economic Development Partnership. The company received a grant from the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, and the State of North Carolina.
