LIBRARY NOTES: Macedonia, Newark, and Palmyra

The Macedon Public Library, 30 Main St., announced the following programs.

Knitting and Crocheting Wednesdays: 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sept. 1, 8th Bring your knitting or crochet projects to the library to be done in the company of other crafting enthusiasts. Share your work and exchange tips on stitches, patterns and projects.

Let’s Play Mahjong !: 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. September 2nd and 9th. Have fun playing this ancient game of skill and strategy. Beginners welcome.

American Red Cross blood drive: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. September 3. Visit redcrossblood.org to sign up.

Library closed: Sept. 6th. The library will be closed for Labor Day.

GeriFit: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., September 7th. 9. Designed for people over 50 years of age. Wear loose-fitting clothing and comfortable shoes to enjoy a workout that improves your balance, strength, and flexibility. Masks recommended. Registration required.

Acoustic guitar beginners class I: 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Sept. 7, registration required.

Amish Knot Rag Rug Coasters: 2pm to 3pm Sept 8th Use your own scraps of fabric to create a coaster or add fabric to create a space or round rug for your home. Bring two old T-shirts or two meters of fabric in contrasting colors. For free.

The Newark Public Library, 121 High St., will host the following programs.

Silent Book Club: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. September 7, Craft 120, 120 E. Union St., Newark. Have a little chat about books and reading, order food and drinks, then read for an hour. The event ends with a conversation about what we have just read and read. Registration required.

Board meeting: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. September 9. Open to the public.

Constantly

Canasta: Wednesdays from 12.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. Registration requested.

Tickets in the library: Thursdays 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Weekly card games in the following rotation: Euchre (Week 1), Cribbage (Week 2), Hearts (Week 3) and Dealer’s Choice (Weeks 4-5).

Mahjong: Tuesdays 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Registration requested.

Small children: Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. For children aged 1-4 years with a caregiver. Join Miss Alicia for animal stories, songs, finger games, a short film, snack, and craft. The sessions will be posted on Facebook on Tuesdays.

Trail Blazers Walking Club: 9:25 am on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This all-skill walking club meets in Perkins Park in the Washington Street parking lot for a 30-minute walk on the trail. Email [email protected] for more information.

The Palmyra Community Library, 402 E. Main St., will host the following programs.

Teenage time: 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. 7th Sept. For grades 6-12. Celebrate the first day of school with a waffle and some fun in the library. Try different toppings, read new books, and be with your friends.

Two’s Company: from September 8th on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. For children aged 18 to 36 months with a parent or a caregiver. Enjoy stories, rhymes, and songs that promote early reading and writing skills.

Waffle It !: 4:00 p.m. on September 9th. For children. Bring your appetite and curiosity to the library, where we will research what foods you can make with a waffle iron. Choose from a range of sweet and savory ingredients to make the most delicious snack.

Afternoon snacks: Mondays and Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. For children and teenagers. For free.

Chair exercise: Wednesdays at 5 p.m. For adults. Take off your stress with this one-on-one class on the third floor of the library. $ 5.

Fit with Kristi: Thursdays at 6 p.m. at the Palmyra Community Center, 424 Stafford St. An entertaining dance aerobics class for Palmyra residents. Masks required. For free.

Preschool Storytime: Thursdays at 10 a.m. For 3-5 years. The program includes activities, stories, action rhymes, and a craft.

Sit and Knit: Wednesdays at 2 p.m. Bring a project or come to study.
