Embroidery for Beginners offers embroidery instructions, stitch techniques, tips and tricks, and basic patterns. The course is free and all materials are provided.

Pike County Public Library Quilters Group is a quilting group that also teaches quilting and needlework. The participants exchange patterns, quilting ideas and sewing projects. Both beginners and experienced quilters are welcome. The Quilters Group takes turns meeting on Saturdays at lunchtime at Lee Avenue Library. – Annual celebration of the historic Snivley Chapel, 9807 Highway 194 West, Pikeville.

This year’s annual celebration of the historic Snivley Chapel takes place on Sunday, October 3rd at 3:00 p.m. and includes music, dinner, fellowship and guest speaker Reverend Julie Hager Love, President of the Kentucky United Methodist Church Children’s Homes. Snivley Chapel is one of the oldest chapels in eastern Kentucky. Participants are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing. To find Snivley Chapel, turn left off US 23 on Pikeville Airport Road and follow to Ky. 194 and turn left. For more information, call Pastor Larry Penix at (606) 616-8430.
